I like blogging. I like writing. I like expressing myself creatively. Sometimes I feel impulse to write – like I must write.
But a lot of times, I don’t write. I don’t feel like writing. I don’t feel creative. I don’t feel motivated.
During this season, I pass many hours of my life seated at a desk in an office. Somehow, a desk just doesn’t give a lot of inspiration (unless it’s a really neat, interesting desk… but mine isn’t). I work on projects that are helpful to the pastors I’m assisting, which is good – but usually it doesn’t provide me with a lot of inspiration for producing my own work.
We all need things that inspire us.
I began to think: what can I count on for inspiration? For new levels of creative energy?
- A walk outdoors
- A good conversation
- An inspirational video
- Music to pray by
- Re-reading parts of past prayer journals
- Playing the piano and singing
- Spending time with the Father
Ultimately, our creative energy must come from abiding in Him – more on that tomorrow.
