Isn’t springtime beautiful? I love being outside and try to take advantage of every opportunity I get (yep, even right now! My little netbook is great for sitting on the deck).
One of my favorite things about spring is seeing all of the green start to poke through the dirt. Winter’s white is beautiful, but by springtime, I’m excited about green. There are lots of other colors, too.
A quick Google search told me that the human eye can perceive approximately 7 million colors. Considering the 7 colors of the rainbow, that number is astounding! But think about it… God created colors – and our eyes. We are limited, but He is unlimited. Isn’t it likely, then, that He could perceive an unlimited number of colors? The very thought blows my mind.
Contrary to my love of spring colors, I metaphorically have always thought of myself as a pretty “black and white” person. I perceive that what I’ve always thought is “right” is “right” and what I’ve always thought “wrong” is “wrong.”
However, as I pursue the unlimited, colorful God, I’m beginning to see that His perception of life and the world is far out of my color scheme. I live in three dimensions… but He is not limited by dimension at all.
The only way we can learn to see as He sees is by getting to know Him – by entering into His invisible presence through prayer, worship, and the Word. As we are conformed to His character, we begin to see more colors.
There are questions I’ve wrestled with that I thought could only have one of two answers. As I pursue Him, I see that I’m not supposed to settle on the “right” or “wrong” way, but instead I am to seek HIS way in all that I do. He is blowing my mind with the answers He is showing me.
What did you always perceive as the “right” or “wrong” thing until He showed you His color spectrum?
