Today, my faithful blog readers, wraps up the “40-day blog challenge” that I gave myself. I am glad to say that I fulfilled my goal of a blog post a day… though a bit embarrassed for the quality of some of my posts! For wanting to post every day, there were many days that I didn’t leave myself sufficient time or energy to post anything worth reading!

More than the 40 days of blogging, though, today is the beginning of the end of a beautiful season of life. Today I travel to the capitol city of Bogota, and tomorrow I head home. This past year and a half “on the field” (even though I was back in the US for part of it) has been an impacting time for me.

Colombia has marked my life in an amazing way. The Colombian culture has taught me to be more friendly, more polite, more hospitable, and more laid-back. It has taught me to dress up more, paint my nails more, and wear different styles of shoes. The Colombians have taught me in the importance of heartfelt greetings – whether it be a hello or a goodbye.

I will miss Colombia and all that it has meant to me. I will miss the heat of Monteria and the coolness of Cali. I will miss the coast and the mountains.  I will miss the incredible amount of green.  I will miss the coconut of the coast and the lulo of the valley.  I will miss the diversity of accents and culture.

But I will not miss the will of God. I will not miss out on walking step by step in all that He has. I am excited about this next season as I coach language learners in North Dakota, spend time with my family and church in Minnesota, and prepare to head to the Middle East.

Thanks for reading these past 40 days. Your comments have been encouraging. I’m going to keep writing, though not every day. Hopefully writing a couple of times a week will help me increase my quality of writing and continue to develop what God has given me.
