“The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.” Psalm 16:5-6

I am at a bit of a loss for words these few weeks, as you may have noticed.  I’m not sure why… but I wanted to share this section of Psalm 16 that has been significant for me the last few days.

He is my portion and my cup. Not only does He provide all we need, He IS all we need. Not only does He give the answer we seek, He IS the answer we seek.  Every time I sit down to eat and remember my physical “portion and cup,” I want to remember that He is truly what I need .

He has made my lot secure. All that has been “allotted to me” He is holding. “I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him for that day” (2 Tim 1:12).

Boundary lines and a pleasant inheritance. He has many good things in store for me – not only for the future, but for right now. My “inheritance” of the ministry is truly a blessing.

Part of my “inheritance” here has included some wonderful work with the youth and youth leaders. Last Saturday we had the first-ever monthly youth service at the church. We were surprised to have 40+ people show up!  I had the honor of sharing the sermon with the other youth leader and helping with the worship.
