I anticipated this moment would come – I’m glad I did what I could to prepare in advance. My first few weeks here (after the Katio conference) I was grateful for a good amount of free time to do my work. I read and studied and enjoyed a lot of time in prayer.

Just as I anticipated, my week has been filled with people! As I’ve developed more relationships with those around me, more and more are stopping by the house to chat. I’m very grateful for these relationships and I know that they will be key for continued ministry here.

Tuesday, I enjoyed lunch with two young ladies who I’ve gotten to know quite well the past couple of weeks. Ana Kary came over in the morning and Ingrid came from school for lunch. We made roasted eggplant, coconut rice, patacones (twice-fried green plantains), and guava juice. The meal turned out great!

Thanks for all who continue to pray for me. My days are filling up with people and projects and my nights are filled as follows:

Mondays: Attend meeting for church leaders – rotating between the church in the city and the pastors’ house near where I live
Tuesdays: Drama group – this week we’ll begin working on a drama for Easter. I attended once as a participant and was immediately roped into teaching “Muñecos,” a short mime we’ve done for various trips. This led to a bigger project, the Easter drama (only 5-6 minutes, but very intense!). I will likely be the main one directing.
Wednesdays: Small group. I support a lady in the church who lives just a few blocks away.
Thursdays: Worship practice for instruments. (I’m playing keyboard.)
Fridays: Meetings at the church. Currently in a class on Spiritual Parenthood and will begin teaching Perspectives Friday nights at the end of March.
Saturdays: Worship practice with everyone at the church.
Sundays: Nothing in the evening – a time of rest!
