Ah, what a great opportunity — and privilege — it is for me to be here. I’ve been thinking through so many things the past couple of days and I look forward to being able to share them with you here.
I had good experiences traveling. I was a little nervous traveling with the bass guitar, but didn’t have any problems, so that was a blessing. I had an unexpected (not unplanned, but it just didn’t show on my itinerary) layover in Costa Rica, which was enjoyable – though it was a short time in the airport, I got a great view of the greenery!
I arrived in Monteria yesterday evening. G and I enjoyed a walk and arepas de queso (arepas are a Colombian “bread” staple) and went to bed early. This morning I woke up and spent most of the morning catching up with the pastor and his wife that are part of the team (they have planted a church in Monteria and live and work there). It was very exciting for me to hear about that church plant (which was only a study group when I was here before) that has grown greatly – tomorrow they will pray for 28 leaders that will begin small groups within the church. How exciting!
As the pastor and I were talking, I was reminded of how good it is to be in the center of God’s will – to walk step by step with Him. The pastor called this the “allí de Dios.” The word “allí” means “right there.” This idiom is something that will stick with me for a long time. I want to be in the “right there” of God. That’s where His blessings, His provision, His favor flow.
This afternoon, G and I spent some time walking and doing some errands.
This afternoon, we took a taxi to Montelibano. We arrived about 7, went out for a bit with a friend, and now we’re back home. I would write more, but my brain is a bit out of English mode at the moment and I’m having trouble coming up with words. Thank you all for your prayers.
